Above everything else, 2019 was a year of upheaval for the Colorado Rapids. With mother nature’s constant weather interruptions, the plague descending upon the Rocky Mountain Arsenal, and three managers, the year has been a remarkable journey for those who follow the torrid adventures of Colorado’s MLS offering.
Unfortunately, the Rapids’ remarkable run towards a playoff position in the waning moments of the year failed at the final hurdle. Anthony Hudson’s woeful tenure at the start of the season ultimately proved too big a hurdle to overcome. Like the club’s prior prior effort at reaching the promised land, 2019 is marked as merely yet another failed attempt at postseason glory.
But Colorado is nonetheless persisting in the right position. Beyond the team’s turnaround at the end of 2019 under new management, the Rapids have since used the offseason to shed some poor performers from their roster and solidify the back line (Now about those DPs…).
Nevertheless, please enjoy our season review in its entirety below. Here’s to a higher finish in 2019 and game-changers brought in with the New Year!
