Season in a Sentence
Whether it was at the start or off the bench, the midseason acquisition brought an electric flair to the wings and provided significant reinforcement to Colorado’s attack.
Performance Review
While Lewis didn’t lock down a consistent starting role like his fellow late arrival, he still made a decisive impact going forward for the Rapids. His 0.5 goals per 90 equaled Kei Kamara’s figure on the season and kept him in the U.S. National Team picture throughout the year.
Future Expectations
The name of the game for Lewis going forward will be consistency. Though Lewis had excellent performances in 2019, there were still some stretches of the season where he couldn’t really get anything done. The young winger will be competing for time with Andre Shinyashiki, Sam Nicholson, and likely a Designated Player come 2020.
