Jackson only played garbage time minutes in Colorado and was decidedly average with Charlotte on loan.

Performance Review

Jackson came off the bench for the Rapids in fourteen league matches in 2018, scoring four goals across fifteen total appearances. From that angle, it’s hard to deny that Jackson’s 2019 was anything other than regression. Jackson capped out at thirty-six league minutes and was more likely to be found on the pitch in Charlotte – where he featured as an intermittent starter/rotational option for most of the year.

Future Expectations

While Jackson spent significant portions of both seasons on loan, his lack of minutes under Casey and Fraser hardly bodes well – especially considering that Colorado are looking to strengthen their attack even more heading into 2020. The good news for Jackson? The Rapids picked up his option, which seems to indicate that management still believes they can get some value out of the striker.
