Season in a Sentence
Matt Hundley didn’t see the field in MLS for the Rapids in 2019 and failed to light up the USL when given the opportunity.
Performance Review
There isn’t really much to say about the homegrown forward in 2019. Hundley didn’t make a league appearance and spent most of the season on loan with Colorado Springs. With the Switchbacks, Hundley only found the back of the net once.
Future Expectations
Hundley’s on contract with the Rapids until 2022, which means he still has an opportunity to impress and secure an extension. However, with an attacking core that is only expected to grow with the addition of new Designated Players, it might take a miracle for Hundley to receive consistent minutes next season. Suffice to say, the homegrown will need to put up more impressive numbers in USL before he can secure a starting role in MLS.
