GIF Sundsvall attacking midfielder and Rapids transfer target Romain Gall spoke to local newspaper Sundsvalls Tidning Sunday about the speculation surrounding his future at the Swedish club.
“I know what I can do and how hard I’ve been training through the years. I knew I had the quality, so it was just about timing and self-confidence. I know what kind of player I am so this is only payment for all that hard work,” Gall explained.
The American attacking midfielder – with playing experience in the United States, France, and Sweden – has been linked to a wide range of clubs, including Swedish mainstays Malmo FF, Hammarby IF, and AIK, as well as the Colorado Rapids.
The rumors swirling around Gall’s future follow a successful stint at Sundsvall where Gall scored eleven goals and recorded eight assists in all competitions since joining the side in 2017.
Gall concluded his remarks by acknowledging “right now everything is fine and to be honest, I’m focusing on my time here, but you never know what’s happening.”
Update: Per Expressen, Gall is undergoing a medical examination at Malmö FF – indicating that a transfer is imminent. It appears Gall has eluded that Rapids’ grasp.
