Colorado Rapids transfer target Giles Barnes has been released from his contract with Liga MX’s Club León, according to ESPN’s Eric Gomez. Barnes never appeared in a league match for Los Panzas Verdes and failed to score in his three appearances in Copa MX.
The Rapids are rumored to be in deep negotiations with the thirty year old attacker and there are rumblings in the Colorado community that a deal is close to materializing.
Barnes has scored five goals across forty-four league appearances over the last three seasons.
